Welligton trip

Wellington was a cool experience. It was fun from the beginning to the end. The bus ride up was fun. You could hear nearly the whole class laughing. The plane had mini TV which allowed us to play games and watch movies. When we arrived to Wellington we went to the National Library. My favourite part was going down do the basement. Over a thousand books sat in there basement. A book nearly a meter tall and half a meter wide was there. It had many pictures about birds. We also saw the actual documents of the Treaty of Waitangi, Women suffrage petition and The Deceleration of independence. Afterwards we signed in to our hotel. Afterwards we went down to the waterfront. I accidentally kicked Izaiahs handball in the water. The next day we went to the Beehive. We met Willow Jean prime and our tour guide was so kind. We sat on MP's chairs and we went into the debating chamber. It was so tidy. Afterwards we played on the slide outside of the building. We then went to Te Papa. Te Papa was my favourite because there was more interactive things. It had more exhibits. I loved going to bush city in Te Papa. It had an amazing salt cave. The next day we went to Bowlarama. It was so fun playing on the arcade games, bowling and the prizes at the end. On the way back it was the same we all laughed. Socialised with each other. We said our bye's and saw each other the next day.

Keep NZ Beautiful

On Friday the 11th our class 9R went down Whitemans road and Leonards Street in Kawakawa. We ended up with three bags of rubbish. We did it because we wanted to contribute to keep New Zealand clean.  We as a school all went out into the community to help.

Kiwi culture

Kiwi culture has many different traditions from other countries. We have our Maori activities like kapa haka. Kiwi culture has their own designs and native plants like flax that we use for weaving. We have many different icons around New Zealand.

Migrating

This term in social studies me and my class have been learning about migration. This week we made posters on why you should move to New Zealand and on why you should leave a country.

About me

My name is Aisha. I’m currently going to Bay of Islands College as a year 9. I have one brother who loves to play rugby and one sister. We are all half Maori and half Pakeha. I’m good at most sports I play and I enjoy playing and competing in them. I also enjoy drawing in my free time. Some of my challenges are communicating and reading. In the odd few times we do comprehensions I struggle a bit.My goals this year is to excel in my sports and get better in my writing. I hope to learn more in maths and to get better in reading. My mum inspires me to strive in my learning and in sports because she did well in most of her subjects during school.
